The Health Communication Capacity Collaborative (HC3) has published a case study on how a private medical practice successfully partnered with the Centre for HIV and AIDS Prevention Studies (CHAPS) in South Africa to provide free medical male circumcision (MMC). 

Dr. Maphisa provides high quality, yet affordable, healthcare in Johannesburg and surrounding townships. CHAPS - one of the largest NGOs focused on MMC as HIV prevention in Africa - approached the practice's founder DR. Shephard Maphisa in 2012 to ask him to provide MMC free of charge.

This two-hour webinar, sponsored by the U.S President's Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) through the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) ASSIST Project, was held on July 7, 2015 and moderated by Dr. Emmanuel Njeuhmeli, Senior Biomedical Prevention Advisor at USAID Office of HIV/AIDS. 

Through three short presentations and panel discussions with USAID ASSIST staff supporting VMMC COI, US Government, Ministry of Health, and implementing partner stakeholders, the webinar shared key insights and lessons learned from implementing quality improvement (COI) activities in support of VMMC services in USG-supported programs in Uganda, South Africa, Malawi, and Tanzania.
