COVID-19 PCR Testing and Treatment
The COVID-19 PCR test is recommended for patients that have symptoms or have recently come into contact with a person that has tested positive for COVID-19.
Consultation and Pathology/Laboratory Fees
Pathology/laboratory fees are R710, excluding our consultation fees of R700 (Total: R1 410).
COVID-19 Positive Patients
If you have tested positive for COVID-19 you will be required to go into isolation for at least 10 days in order to protect your family, friends and work mates.
Post Isolation Review & Medical Certificate
At the end of the 10 day isolation period, you should come back to our doctor for review and letter clearing you to go back to work or school. However, if on review the doctor finds that you have not fully recovered, you will be put on treatment and your isolation period extended until you have fully recovered.
Review fees are R350 on condition you come back within 7 days of your last consultation date. If you come after 7 days, you will be required to pay the full consultation fees of R700.
It is important to come back for review as instructed by the doctor.
Failure to come back may lead to medical complications and endanger your life.
Medication
Consultation and review fees for cash patients include an allowance for medication.
We also dispense medication to Medical aid patients.
COVID-19 PCR Travel Certificate
It is recommended that you should do the COVID-19 PCR test two days before your date of departure. To be more accurate, the test should be performed not more than 72 hours before you cross the border or check-in at the airport. Please discuss the timing of the test with our doctor to avoid being turned back at the border or airport.
It takes 12 to 24 hours to get your test results.

Results, SMS and/or Email Notification
It takes 12 to 24 hours to get your results.
You will be notified of your results via SMS and/or email.
Please ensure that you supply the laboratory with the correct mobile number and/or email address.
Printing Travel Certificate
Once you get your results via SMS and/or email, please follow the link provided in order to print your travel certificate.

COVID-19 Rapid/Antigen Test
Please note that the Rapid Antigen Test is not reliable.
Pathology/laboratory fees are R250, excluding our consultation fees of R700 (Total: R950).
COVID-19 antibody testing
If you would like to find out if you have contracted COVID-19 in the past, then a COVID-19 antibody test is recommended. We however do not recommend this test as it is of little value to the patient.
Pathology/laboratory fees are R230, excluding our consultation fees of R700 (Total: R950).
Other Laboratory/Pathology Investigations & Blood Tests
We do other laboratory investigations and blood tests, including sperm analysis, antenatal profile, allergy screening, fertility tests, HIV testing and monitoring, and many more.
Referral Letter
In order to perform laboratory/pathology tests, a referral letter from your doctor is required.
If you do not have a referral letter, Dr. Maphisa & Partners Inc. will assist you with one on arrival.

Ampath, Lancet & Toga Laboratories
We have several laboratories onsite at both Lister Medical in Johannesburg and RH Rand Clinic in Hillbrow. Anyone of the laboratories will assist you with your laboratory test requirements. You however need a referral letter from your doctor.
If you do not have a referral letter, Dr. Maphisa & Partners Inc. will assist you with one on arrival.

Medical Aid Patients We accept most medical aids on condition we can confirm your identity and availability of funds.
Please bring you identity document, drivers license or passport.
We however, do NOT accept all Momentum and CareCross options.
We accept all Discovery options except Smart and Core Options.
We also accept MotoHealth except the Custom Option.
Co-payments and Medication
We do NOT charge co-payments.
We also dispense medication to medical aid patients.
Cash Payments Methods
If we are not able to confirm your identity or availability of funds, you will be required to pay cash.
We will however give you a statement so that you can claim a refund from your medical aid.

Medical Aid Fraud
It is a criminal offense to use your medical aid for persons that are not registered with your medical aid, even if the patient is your friend, child or family member. Please do not ask our doctor to help you commit fraud.
Free Medical Aid Benefits
Wellness Tests
Wellness tests and consultations do not affect your day-to-day benefits as they are paid from the hospital benefit. We advise our patients to do annual wellness screening tests and dental check-ups.
Adults
For adults, tests covered include annual dental check-ups, blood glucose, blood pressure, cholesterol, weight/BMI, HIV, prostrate test/PSA, Pap smear and mammograms
Children
For children, the benefits cover growth assessment, including height, weight, head circumference and milestone tracking.
